My favorite “home base” for this region is Monterey. On my first trip here, I stayed at the Hotel Pacific, a chic, luxury oasis perfectly located in Monterey.

    The Rooms

All of Hotel Pacific’s rooms are suites. There’s the standard or luxury suites with a king or two double beds, or you can upgrade to a premier suite for expanded seating and either vaulted ceilings on the top floor or courtyard access on the bottom floor.

The rooms are designed to look like beach cottages. The coastal decor is beautiful and inviting, with nautical colors, French doors with shutters, and shiplap ceilings.

Every room comes with spa-like bathrooms, a sleeper sofa, a kitchenette, a private patio or balcony, and a sitting or dining area.

    Food & Drink

An excellent complimentary breakfast and afternoon refreshments are included with your stay.

Hotel Pacific doesn’t have a restaurant or bar on-site. But this didn’t bother me because when you’re in Monterey, you want to be out dining on the waterfront. The hotel is just minutes (by walking) from some of the city’s best dining and drinking.

    The Location

Hotel Pacific is a few minutes’ walk from the waterfront, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, A Taste Of Monterey, and some of the best shopping and dining in the city.

You couldn’t be more conveniently located in the city than at Hotel Pacific!

The hotel is also only a short drive from Pebble Beach and Carmel-By-The-Sea. Big Sur is a bit further south (about 45 minutes), but the hiking and beaches in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park are worth the drive.
